Forsythia Counseling, PLLC offers safety, healing, and hope for individuals overwhelmed by stress and searching for emotional stability during life transitions. A wise person once said, "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional."  In our busy world, we know that pain (stress) is inevitable, yet sometimes how we think about it adds to our suffering. If you can acknowledge the pain caused by stressful times and learn to respond compassionately rather than react (e.g., numb, avoid, neglect, etc.), you can diminish your suffering. Even more, you can grow through painful experiences and learn new ways of managing adversity in your life! During stressful times, it's essential to attune to your emotional and physical shifts for your growth and healing. It's not easy to face your pain, but necessary for healing and growth...and you don't have to work through the pain or suffering alone.

My goal is to support you through challenging times, allowing you to open fully to the present moment by incorporating compassion-oriented and mindfulness-based strategies.

It takes courage to face your fears and make a change in your life. I acknowledge the difficulties it takes to ask for help. As your therapist, I will offer unconditional positive regard and support you through every stage of the therapeutic process. I will be with you through your journey, side-by-side with nonjudgmental awareness, encouragement, compassion, and empathy.

Many clients tell me that I make them feel very at home and comfortable as if we've known each other for a long-time even upon our first meeting.  I recognize that asking for help is a difficult first step in your healing process, and I consider it a privilege to work together for your emotional well-being.
